LSAT 2016 Admission Process
The law school admission criteria vary from country to country. The undergraduate GPA weightage and LSAT score weightage varies from school to school.
Credential Assembly Service (CAS)
CAS plays an intermediate role between the students and law schools. It makes the admission process easy as it allows the candidate’s to submit all the important documents/transcripts to LSAC. It shares all your credentials with the law schools. The candidates are not required to submit documents for each law schools. Only one time uploading is needed. For submitting the transcripts, it is mandatory for the candidates to have account in LSAC. CAS charges the fee from all registered candidates. After payment to the CAS, your account will be activated for 5 years.
Documents Required
The candidates have to send the following documents to LSAC through CAS:
- Undergraduate, Graduate, Professional, and Law School Transcripts;
- Letters of Recommendation;
- and evaluations
Make sure to have your LSAT score available in LSAC file.
States not participated in CAS
Canada doesn’t participate in the Credential Assembly Service (CAS). The law schools of Melbourne participate in CAS but it is not necessary that candidate’s use it. These states accept LSAT reportable score.
Selection Process
CAS prepares the summarized documentation of your prior academic records, LSAT score and writing sample. The finalized prepared report will further be sent to the possible law schools. Finally, you can access law schools from your LSAC account.
