Here, we are providing the official exam dates of UG, PG and B.Tech entrance exam in Delhi University.

For UG Merit Based Courses:

Delhi University Application Form

The University conduct entrance exam only for the PG courses.The admission in the B.Tech programme is based on the JEE Main 2017. The details about the Delhi University application form for various courses is mentioned below.

UG Courses

The application form to get admission in DU is providing through online process. Application form for UG entrance based courses has been released on 16th June 2017. Last date to submit the application is 25th June 2017. The application form for Merit Based Undergraduate Admissions was released on 22nd May 2017 (6:00 PM onwards). Candidates have to fill the application through the official website of Delhi University. Candidates are suggested to take printout of the application form for further use.

PG Courses Application Form

Those candidates seeking admission in the various courses of Delhi University, they have to fill the DU 2017 Application form. The application form has been released from 12th June 2017. 50% seats of the PG programmes will be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi and the remaining 50% seats will filled through the entrance exam plus interviews. The registration fee for SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 1000 each course and fee for all candidates (General, OBC, etc.) is Rs. 1500. After submission of the application form, no changes will be allowed.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UG, PG and B.tech Courses are given below.

PG Courses:

  • The eligibility criteria for each programme in which candidate apply is different. Candidate will have to complete their graduation in their specific field from any recognized university.
  • There is no minimum age bar limit for admission in PG courses at Delhi University, except for courses regulated by bodies such as Medical Council of India, Bar Council of India, etc.

For UG Courses:

  • Candidates have to qualify their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
  • Candidates have to pass the qualifying examination obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the courses.

B.Tech Course:

Candidates have to pass their 10+2 level from a recognized board. The minimum aggregate marks as given below (category wise):

  • General Category: 60 % in four subjects (including mathematics)
  • OBC category: 54% in four subjects (including Mathematics)
  • PH category: 55% in four subjects (including Mathematics)
  • SC/ST category: Passing marks with Mathematics as one subject

Delhi University Exam Pattern

The exam pattern will be different for different academic courses offered by the university. The PG entrance exam will be OMR based examination. Candidates must note that for UG courses (merit based) there will be no entrance exam. The entrance exam will be held for UG courses (entrance based) and PG courses.

Delhi University Syllabus

The PG entrance exam syllabus will be different according to the candidate applying course. It contains the detailed syllabus of their graduation degree in specified programme. The DU syllabus for the entrance test for UG courses is based on the academic syllabus of class 11th and 12th.  Candidates appearing for the UG Courses (entrance based) may check the official syllabus when the notification will be released by the university. Candidates must note that we will update the syllabus as soon as it will be released by the officials.

FAQ’s (Most Asked Questions)

Answer: For PG courses (MD/MS/MDS) the application form was available from 1st March 2017. For UG Merit based courses the application forms is released from 22nd May, 2017. For PG courses application has been released from 12th June 2017.

Answer: No, candidate may choose any one of the six cities for appearing in the entrance examination through
the online registration. After completion of the online registration, the chosen Centre will not be changed.

DU Admit Card 2017

Those Candidates who have applied  for the PG programme, they will get Delhi University Admit Card 2017 by accessing the Delhi University portal. Candidate can take the printout of the admit card and reach at the examination center on the exam date.

Answer Key

After the 24 hours of the PG entrance exam, the conducting authority releases the answer key in the official site. In case, if any candidate found any discrepancy/inconsistency/error in the question paper and answer key, then the candidate can register a complaint within 48 hours from the time of uploading of the answer key.

OMR Response Sheet

Candidate who will appear for the PG programme, if they need to obtain a copy of the OMR Response Sheet, then the candidate will make a request to the conducting body within 7 calendar days from the declaration of result date in prescribed format along with a fee of Rs. 500 per paper. The fee is non refundable.

Delhi University Result 2017

After the entrance exam, the Delhi University 2017 Result will be announced for the PG course. The result will be declared on the first week of July 2017 (tentative). The result comprises of merit list. On the basis of the merit list candidate will be called for the counselling process.

DU Cut-off

The UG programme cut-off marks will be prepared on the basis of class 12th marks of the school boards. The cut-off marks will be prepared by the various colleges affiliated to the Delhi University. Candidate will get admission in the UG programmes on the basis of the DU cut-off.

List of Documents Required at the Time of Admission

Candidates will be required to produce the following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of admission.

  • Class 10th and 12th Mark sheet
  • Class 10th and 12th Passing Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST Certificate
  • OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) Certificate
  • At least two passport size self-attested photograph
