It is also popular by the name as CEE Kerala (Combined Entrance Exam). This exam is a gateway for providing admissions to professional degree courses in various fields like engineering, agriculture and many others. It is also referred as Kerala engineering entrance or Kerala medical entrance exam. KEAM (Kerala Entrance) is organized by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala. It is conducted on the various test centres like Delhi, Mumbai, Ranchi, Shillong and Dubai (UAE). KEAM 2017 Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) has been started from 23rd June 2017. What is New in KEAM 2017?

  • Admissions into architecture courses will be done through NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.
  • In addition to filling the form of NEET, medical and architecture courses aspirants are also required to apply for KEAM to get seats in Kerala state.
  • Engineering aspirants only need to fill the application form of KEAM 2017.
  • Kerala state rank lists and the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) for both Medical and Engineering streams will be done by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.
  • Kerala (KEAM) medical entrance exam was held last in year 2016. From the year 2017, no entrance will be held for admission to MBBS/BDS and other medical allied courses. Admission to these courses will be done on the basis of NEET score.

KEAM Counselling (Admission Process)

Seats allotment is done via Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) done through the Single Window System (SWS). KEAM Counselling 2017 is organized after the result announcement. The counselling for second round has been started from 6th July 2017. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of ranks secured by the candidates and options filled by candidates. This process is conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala with the support of National Informatics Centre. After seat allotment, candidates have to report to the allotted college to confirm their admission.

KEAM 2018

KEAM 2018 will be organized by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala. It is a state level entrance exam conduct for admission to the engineering courses. The admission into medical courses will be based on NEET score. The application form will be available from the 1st week of January 2018.

KEAM Application Form 2017

  • KEAM application was available online.
  • Candidates can fill and submit the KEAM Application Form online through the official site of KEAM.
  • The application form was released from 1st February 2017.
  • More than one application form through one candidate will lead to rejection.
  • The correction opportunity will be provided only to those candidates who have successfully submit their applications.
  • Candidates must upload the scanned copies of their photo, signature and left hand thumb impression in specific format while filling the application form.

After filling the application form, candidates were required to send the printed application form along with required documents to the address mentioned below:

Application Fee:

  • The application fee was Rs. 800/- for general categories and Rs. 400/- for SC candidates.
  • No application fee was charged for ST candidates.
  • Candidates opting Dubai as a centre have to pay Rs. 12,000/- plus application fee.

The fee payment can be done using credit card/debit card/net-banking and e-challan. Payment can be made in cash at Selected branches of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) in India or All Head and Sub Post Offices in Kerala state.

KEAM Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check the CEE Kerala eligibility criteria before applying:

Domicile Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply.
  • Students looking for admissions in professional courses will be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I and Non-Keralite Category II.

Qualification Eligibility:

  • For Medical courses: candidates must have passed higher secondary or equivalent exam with securing 50% marks in biology/biotechnology individually and 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology together
  • For B.Tech courses: applicants should have cleared 12th or equivalent exam with obtaining at least 50% marks in mathematics individually and 50% marks together in physics, chemistry & mathematics.

Age Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • There is not any provision of upper age limit.
  • Age relaxation in the minimum age will not be permitted.

KEAM Admit Card 2017

KEAM Admit Card 2017 was issued only via online process through the official website of the authority. The admit card was available from 12th April 2017. To download the admit card, candidates were required to enter their application number and password. Admit cards were not be sent by post system. The Admit card has details of candidature and details of exam date, exam venue, exam time. etc.

CEE Kerala 2017 Exam Pattern

  • No of Papers; The examination was conducted in two papers.
  • Duration: The duration of each paper was two and half hours.
  • Type of Questions: The questions are of multiple choice questions type and based on single response.
    • For each question, five optional answers were given, candidates have to choose the right one only.
  • Mode of Exam: The exam was conducted in pen and paper based mode.
  • No of Questions: Each paper contains total 120 questions.
  • Marking Scheme: Four marks will be given for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
    • Negative marking will also be done for multiple answers.
    • There will no marks be deducted for no response.

Kerala CEE 2017 Syllabus

Syllabus for KEAM engineering entrance exam will comprise in physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects. The KEAM syllabus will be taken from Higher Secondary or equivalent examination standard. Candidates note down the questions will not be based on NCERT textbooks or any other textbooks exclusively.

KEAM 2017 Answer Key

The CEE Kerala was released the KEAM Answer Key 2017 for both paper-1 and paper-2 on 25th April 2017. Answer key was published through the official website of Kerala CEE. Any complaints regarding answer key should be submitted to CEE in written with supporting documents and a fee of Rs. 100/- per question on or before 2nd May 2017. The fee was paid through DD drawn in the favor of CEE, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

KEAM 2017 FAQ’s (Most Asked Questions)

Answer: No need to complete all the procedures in a single step. You can do each step in different time. But logout from the portal each time should be ensured.
Answer: There is no provision for retrieving the application number. If you do not complete the Payment section of online application, a new registration may be done and you will get a new application number.
Answer: Using the link ‘Forgot Password’ in online application, you can reset your password. Application number, DOB, Security Question and answer of it should be provided for resetting the password.
Answer: Photo to be uploaded should have the specified dimensions and size. Refer the ‘Photo guideline’ provided in the application portal.
Answer: You can download any proforma from your home page after logging on the application portal. But you have to complete the ‘Candidate Registration’ (Step 1) for entering into the home page. The link ‘Additional Certificates’ in home page can be used for downloading the required proforma.
Answer: Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 December of the year of exam. There is no upper age limit for applying for KEAM
Answer: Application fee can be paid either through e-chllan or credit card/debit card or net banking.
Answer: OCI – Overseas Citizen of India
PIO – Persons of Indian Origin
OCI and PIO issued by Govt. of India alone will be considered.
Answer: Candidates can submit any one of the following documents/certificates for satisfying their nativity requirements.
Certificate to prove nativity for Keralites.
True copy of relevant page of SSLC of the candidate showing his/her place of birth in Kerala. Self attested copy of this certificate has to be attached separately.
Answer: It is better to submit income certificate by all candidates except SC/ST. Those (including General Category) who wish to avail the benefits such as fee concession/scholarships that may be notified by the Government or college authorities subsequently, based on annual family income, should furnish the Income Certificate along with the application itself. No further chance will be allowed to submit Income Certificate.

KEAM Result 2017

The KEAM 2017 Result for Engineering Entrance Examination was published on 18th May 2017 and rank list was published on 20th June 2017. The rank for architecture course has been released on 23rd June 2017. Candidates can view their results through the official portal of CEE Kerala. After result announcement, a separate merit list will be prepared for all the courses. For engineering courses, Merit list will be prepared on the basis of 50:50 criteria; 50% for entrance exam and 50% for marks obtained in qualifying exam.
