Admission Procedure
The admission in the state private, government law colleges and universities will be offered through national level and university level entrance exams. The admissions will be offered on the basis of ranks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam. There is no state level entrance exam conducted by the state authority.
Entrance Exams
Most of the institutions consider the national level entrance exams score card such as CLAT. Common Law Admission Test is organized every year by the National Law Universities (NLUs) on rotation basis. Through CLAT, candidates can get admission in LL.B, integrated LL.B. and LL.M. programme. Some universities conduct their own entrance exam to admit candidates in law programmes in their campuses.

- There is no maximum age limit to appear in the CLAT exam.
- Candidates those seeking for admission in law UG courses should pass the 12th examination with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
- For admission in law PG courses, candidates should have the LL.B or its equivalent degree from a recognized university/college with minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
- Candidates appearing in the final year of graduation can also apply.
Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidates will depend upon the rank secured by the candidate in the entrance test, choices filled by them and the availability of the seats. The candidates those who will qualify the entrance exam will be called for the counselling procedure. Candidates have to bring the original certificates on the day of counselling for the document verification process. After the verification process, candidates will be allowed to fill the choices of colleges and courses. The provisional seats will be allotted to the candidates on the same day of counselling after which candidates can report to the allotted college for admission.
