MH CET 2016: Application Form, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

MH CET 2016The MH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is a medical entrance examination managed by the Government of Maharashtra. This exam is organized for the screening of the students for admissions in Health Science Courses in the state of Maharashtra. By clearing this exam, candidates will get admissions into Government aided Health Science institutions and Private Medical Health Science Colleges/ Institutions of Maharashtra state. Through this article, candidates can check the detailed information regarding MH CET 2016, including the offered courses, eligibility, important dates, application form, etc.

Important Dates

The MH-CET dates have not been announced yet. Here we have mentioned the tentative dates of MH-CET examination for the year of 2016:

  • Online application starts: 5th March, 2016
  • Last date to submit the application form: 24th March, 2016
  • Admit card release: 27th April, 2016 to 6th May 2016
  • MH CET exam: 7th May 2016
  • Last date of online submission of certificate for Additional Weightage Claim (For Health Science Courses Only): 12th May 2016
  • Display of Provisional Key: 20th May 2016
  • OMR answer sheet display: 25th May 2016
  • Last date of online submission of objections on Question Paper/Answer Key/Typographic errors: 25th May 2016 to 28th May 2016
  • Result announcement: On or before 5th June 2016
  • Merit list release: On or before 12th June, 2016
  • Downloading of Markheet: 13th June, 2016

Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the application form, candidates are advised to read out all the eligibility criteria and satisfy themselves that they are eligible to apply for the course which they are applying for. Here we have mentioned the eligibility criteria for this exam:

  • Candidates must be an Indian Citizen, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas citizen of India (OCI).
  • NRI candidates are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidate’s Date of Birth Should fall on or before 31st December 1998 or 1st October 1998 (for Ayurved and Unani courses)
  • Candidates should be medically fit.
  • Candidates must have cleared the 10th or equivalent exam from a school or institution located in Maharashtra state.
  • Candidates should have passed 12th or equivalent from Maharashtra state with Physics, English, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) at the time of admission.

MH-CET Application Form 2016

Candidates can fill and submit the MH-CET Application Form 2016 only via online process through the official website of MH-CET. Firstly, candidates have to register online to fill the application form. After that candidates have to fill the application form carefully. Upload the scanned images of photographs and signature. The fee payment will be done only through the e-challan of SBI Bank. After filling the application form candidates are suggested to keep the printout of the confirmation page for further reference.

Exam Pattern

The question paper will contain total 200 objective type questions from the physics, chemistry and biology (zoology & botany). Each question will carry 1 mark and the maximum mark of this exam is 200. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct response and there is no provision of negative marking. The weightage of questions to each subjects are mentioned below:

Result Announcement

After the successful completion of MH-CET exam 2016, the result will be provided to students in the first week of June, 2016. Candidates can check their results through the official website of MH-CET. Candidates are required to enter their Roll Number and click on the submit button to generate the result.

Counselling Procedure

The MH-CET Counselling 2016 will be managed and regulated by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER). Successful candidates will be called for counselling procedure in the month of June, 2016. Seats will be allotted to students, according to the basis of ranks secured in the merit list, choices of colleges filled by the candidates and availability of seats.
