BTech Admission in Uttarakhand 2017Uttarakhand is a state located in the northern part of the country. This state was came into existence on 9th November 2000 and it was carved out of Northern Uttar Pradesh state. This state is also referred as “Dev Bhumi” (Land of  Gods). Apart from the Hindu Pilgrim Sites, it is also famous for notable engineering colleges and institutions. According to the census 2011, this state has a literacy rate of 78.82 %. Here we are providing details about B.Tech Admission in Uttarakhand 2017.

Admission Procedure

Candidates willing for admission to B.Tech courses will get admission on the basis of national or university level entrance examination or merit list of the qualifying exam. This state does not conduct any state level exam for admission in 1st year of engineering courses.

Entrance Exam

In this state, the JEE Main examination is mostly considered by various colleges for providing admission in engineering courses. For admissions in B.Tech lateral entry courses, students can appear for UKSEE examination. The UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) organizes self entrance test UPESEAT for providing admission in B.Tech programmes. Various colleges also offer admission through the merit list of the board percentage of the candidate in 10+2.

B.Tech Admission 2017

Students are suggested to check out the eligibility criteria before applying for the test/ course. Here we have provided the basic eligibility for B.Tech courses:

  • Candidates should have cleared the 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects from any recognized board.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.
  • In the qualifying exam, students must have secured 50% marks in PCM subjects (for JEE Main).

Selection Procedure

Firstly, candidates will choose the mode in which they are applying for admission i.e. entrance exam or merit list. Students will be invited for counselling process, as per the merit list of entrance test or qualifying exam. To participate in the counselling process, candidates have to pay the counselling fee. After fee payment, candidates will choose the courses as per their choices. Seats will be allotted on the basis of rank, choices filled by the candidates and seat availability in colleges.

Documents Required

Following documents will be required at the time of counselling/ admission:

  • 10th class mark sheet & passing certificate.
  • 12th class mark sheet & passing certificate.
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
  • Rank card and admit card of entrance test (if any).
  • Domicile certificate (for state quota).
