COMEDK UGET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

comedk uget 2016COMEDK UGET is one of the most demanding entrance examination conducted on 8th May, 2016 (Sunday). More than 150 colleges are the member institutions of COMEDK. In other words, around 150 institutions are affiliated to the COMEDK. COMEDK UGET is the All India computer based test held across the country. The examination authority has announced the eligibility criteria that ensure the eligibility of the candidates. In this article, we are providing the officially declared COMEDK UGET 2016 Eligibility Criteria.

COMEDK UGET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

For undergraduate medical and dental courses, the eligibility criterion is mentioned below:

  • Must have passed 10+2/Intermediate/Second PUC examination from a well-recognized Central/State government Education board/University.
  • It must be required to have English as a compulsory subject along with PCB in 11th and 12th
  • The candidates belonging to the General category should have 50% marks in PCB and for SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka, the marks criteria will be 40%.
  • The candidates who are appearing the qualifying examination and expect the prescribed marks in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Also, it is mandatory for the general category candidates to secure more than 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) in PCB subjects of COMEDK UG entrance examination 2016. Same marks criteria will be applicable for English subject.
  • If the candidates are not able to secure above prescribed marks in the entrance examination then he/she is not entitled for a rank.
  • Must complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2016.

For the determination of rank, only PCB subjects will be taken into consideration. The marks of English will not be included for rank formation, but it is necessary to clear the English examination individually. The paper on English language will basically conduct to test the basic knowledge of the candidate in English.

For Engineering and Architecture courses, the eligibility conditions are discussed below:

Engineering Courses:

  • The aspirants must have passed 12th or its equivalent examination with PCM and English as a compulsory subject.
  • Minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) is required in PCM. Candidates please note down that you must have Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject along with any optional subject as Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses.
  • COMEDK UGET 2016 is not conducted for the diploma candidates because there are no lateral entry admissions.

Architecture Courses:

  • Those who are interested for the architecture courses must have complete 10+2 or diploma recognized by the State/Central Government and should have mathematics as one of the mandatory subject. The percentage criterion of 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST) is required in the qualifying examination.
  • Must have appeared National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture and secure minimum 80 marks out of 200 (for all category candidates).
  • No entrance test will be organized for admission to B.Arch Courses. Those seeking admission in this course have to apply for separate application.
